Anderson and Ace are escorted to the middle of the battlefield by the
Soldier of Royalty.
“Humans can be so barbaric at times,” Dibdyb remarks in his growly
voice.
“May I remind you that I too have human genes, and all species can
be barbaric, Mr. Dibdyb,” Duke Reion retorts.
Dibdyb smirks as he and Duke Reion focus on the battle at hand.
“You might have the other guys fooled, but not me,” Ace affirms. “I
know you’re scared.”
“Of course, I’m scared, Ace,” Anderson says. “Look at us; we’re on an
alien planet, fighting to go back home to our loved ones.”
“I got my loved one here, and all anyone ever seems to want to do is
take her away from me!” Ace agonizes.
“You got this all wrong, man. We don’t want to steal her away from
you; we’re just trying to work as a team,” Anderson tries to reason.
“They took my buddy Dean from me, but no one is going to take Izzy
from me!” Ace yells before lunging for Anderson.
Anderson darts out of the way, dodging his crazed competitor. “Use
that anger against Pryme; he’s the one responsible for Dean’s banishment!”
Anderson scolds. “Don’t use it against me; we’re on the same team!”
